Miro Engineering is looking for a System Engineer to support substation and power distribution projects — mainly secondary design, including control and protection systems, and DC/AC systems. Seniority level depends on experience.
Responsibilities
Design secondary systems for substation projects
Develop control, protection, DC, and AC system designs
Prepare dimensioning calculations, cabling design, and project documentation
Support testing and commissioning activities when required
Work closely with chief designers, project managers, customers, and the Lead Engineer
Ensure technical solutions are reliable, cost-effective, and delivered on schedule
Nice to have
Experience in primary design of substations
Experience in commissioning activities
Experience in hydropower, power plants, or other infrastructure projects
Experience with EPLAN and AutoCAD
Ability to work on long-term, technically complex projects
Requirements
Experience in electrical engineering design, especially secondary design of substations
Understanding of protection, control, AC, and DC systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills
Fluency in English, spoken and written

Miro Engineering is looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer to support international hydropower projects — electrical and automation design ensuring technical solutions meet contract requirements, project standards, and customer expectations. Occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities
Design electrical and automation systems for hydropower plants
Work with turbine and generator control systems
Support instrumentation, protection, and control system design
Work with magnetization, synchronization systems, and protective relays
Design gate control systems and vibration monitoring systems
Prepare control panel layouts, circuit diagrams, and component selections
Manage pre-design, system design, detail design, and technical documentation
Coordinate with the Lead Engineer and project team
Monitor engineering progress, schedules, and design milestones
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, laws, and customer requirements
Nice to have
Previous experience in hydropower projects
Experience in other power plant environments
Experience with design tools such as EPLAN or AutoCAD
Experience with Febdok
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced project environment
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably B.Sc., Engineering Degree, or M.Sc.
Several years of experience in practical electrical design
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering, preferably in hydropower or power plant projects
Experience with turbine and generator control, automation, protection, and instrumentation systems
Knowledge of standards such as IEC; knowledge of DOK80 is an advantage
Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage several tasks or projects while paying attention to detail
Fluency in English; Finnish or Swedish language skills are considered an advantage
